Installation Engineer (Automotive/Electrical)

About the Role:
We are seeking skilled Automotive Engineers to join our team and support ongoing and future projects.
This is a technically focused role involving the installation, testing and commissioning of vehicle-mounted technology systems.
The role will be primarily workshop based, with installations conducted at our designated warehouse facility following job specific training.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install technology systems onto petrol, diesel, and electric vehicles.
- Fit HMI screens and control units.
- Install and secure power and control cables in accordance with manufacturer standards.
- Conduct pre- and post-installation vehicle inspections.
- Ensure compliance with Safe Systems of Work (SSOW) and Risk Assessments (RA).
- Record installation documentation electronically (VIN referenced files).
- Support calibration and system validation test and processes.
- Maintain tools and equipment inventory.
- Work at a target installation rate of 6 vehicles per week (team-based).
Essential Requirements:
- Proven experience in automotive repair and inspection work.
- Experience installing electrical or electronic equipment into vehicles.
- Strong understanding of 12V vehicle systems.
- Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams.
- Competent in safe use of tools and workshop equipment.
- Good IT skills for documentation and system testing.
- Strong diligence and a passion to learn.
- Ability to work within structured processes and quality standards.

Applicants should have completed or be completing:
- Caribbean Vocational Qualification (CVQ) Level 2 or 3.
- City & Guilds (Electrical/Automotive).
- Diploma or associate degree in relevant technical discipline.
- Technical Certificate in Automotive or Electrical Studies.
Advantageous Skills & Experience:
- Experience working with CCTV or similar systems.
- Knowledge of CAN bus systems.
- Experience working with hybrid or electric vehicles (EVs).
- Electrical qualification (City & Guilds or equivalent).
- Health & Safety knowledge or certification.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Graduate and final-year student of SJPP or equivalent technical institution.
- Practical, hands on skills.
- Strong work ethic.
- Able to follow structured processes.
- Interested in long-term engineering career.
