The Operations Dispatcher is responsible for coordinating and overseeing daily operational activities related to receiving, sorting, dispatching, route control, delivery follow-up, warehouse organization, and last-mile support. This role ensures compliance with service timelines, quality standards, operational traceability, and SLA targets established for the courier and cross-border e-commerce operations in Barbados.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure package dispatch following FIFO methodology and correct prioritization of critical shipments and due dates.
- Monitor delivery and pickup routes using tracking platforms and operational systems.
- Follow up deliveries, pickups and operational exceptions to ensure SLA and due date compliance.
- Coordinate and validate the proper preparation of last mile routes.
- Manage and monitor customs released cargo to ensure timely dispatch.
- Perform offloading, labelling, sorting and shipment zoning by routes, parishes and operational priorities.
- Organize and store cargo in the warehouse according to operational zones, priorities and News.
- Verify physical condition of packages before dispatch and report inconsistencies.
- Ensure proper shipment classification, labelling and traceability.
- Coordinate van loading ensuring proper organization and cargo security.
- Validate manifests, dispatch documentation and operational paperwork before dispatch.
- Register operational information in logistics systems ensuring accuracy and traceability.
- Follow up and manage operational incidents reported by couriers, drivers or partners.
- Carry out a comparison of all the packages that leave the route of each vehicle, with respect to those delivered and those returned, and report any inconsistencies. The number of packages must always balance and they cannot be lost. Any news must be reported to the Supervisor in charge.
- If a package was delivered and was not registered in the system, review the evidence of delivery and, if applicable, enter the POD in the system on the date and time the delivery was made.
- Carry out every afternoon, planning the number of routes and their distribution by parish and area for the next day. Sending it to the Supervisor in charge.
- Verify the inventory of trackers by identifying where they are located. Guaranteeing that if a vehicle is not on route, the vehicle returns the tracker and undelivered packages to the warehouse.
- Ensure proper operation and control of trackers, devices and operational equipment.
- Maintain warehouse organization and cleanliness following operational and safety standards.
- Ensure integral care of personal health and comply with OSH policies.
- Participate in training sessions and report incidents or hazards.
- Comply with operational safety standards and procedures.

Qualifications & Experience
- Associate Degree, or Bachelor’s in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Operations, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 6 months to 2 years’ experience within the shipping, logistics, or related industry.
- Experience in courier operations, warehousing, distribution, last-mile delivery, or e-commerce operations would be considered an asset
