Business Development Manager
The HFJ is seeking a dynamic, energetic, committed team member who has a keen interest in the promotion of a healthy lifestyle. Reporting to the Chief Administrative Officer, the Business Development Manager serves as a key member of the management team and is an active participant in making strategic decisions affecting the HFJ.
The ideal candidate will:
- In partnership with the management team, be responsible for preparing an annual business development plan and budget for board approval, which will embrace the business development strategy of the HFJ
- Maintain strong relationships with existing partners as well as forge new relationships to build HFJ’s visibility, impact, and financial resources
- Increase public awareness of the programs and services of the HFJ
- Further develop the infrastructure needed to increase HFJ’s budget through the solicitation of major gifts, local and overseas grants, special events, promotion of HFJ’s other programmes and services, winning public, corporate, and foundation support, and increasing membership
- Be organized, self-motivated, and able to work in a very fast-paced environment
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent qualification in Business Management or a related area
- Experience in Sales is essential
- Experience in Business Development
- Experience in proposal writing and identifying sponsorship is preferred
- 5 years of professional experience, including sales, ideally with some experience in a nonprofit organization; demonstrated success in a business development function (managing and forging relationships with multiple donor sources)
- Tangible experience of having expanded and cultivated existing donor/sponsor/client relationships over time
