Stewart Finance Jamaica Limited is seeking a qualified, experienced, and results-driven individual with a track record of success in collections and delinquency management, to fill the position of:
RECEIVABLES OFFICER-COLLECTIONS
Job Summary: The incumbent will be responsible for performing delinquency management duties according to the established policies and procedures of the Company, with the objective of meeting daily, weekly, and monthly collection targets.
The key duties of this position include:
- Assist with the daily review and collection of all past due accounts to achieve targeted delinquency goals with lowest possible loss ratios and minimal risks.
- Contact clients and prepare proposal for the collection of the outstanding debt.
- Thorough follow through with the clients to collect the outstanding debts.
- Keep records of arrears (behind in payments) and prepare routine letters or make telephone calls requesting payment.
- Assist in resolving customer discrepancies/queries and adjustments.
- Assist as necessary with account restructuring on the system and any other system related matters.
- Assist with completing weekly/monthly collections reports as necessary.
- Meetings with clients as necessary.
- Assist with the preparation of loan amortization schedules, audit confirmations, status letters, settlement quotes and statements.
- Make contact and prepare proposal for the collection of outstanding balances after a repossessed vehicle is sold.
- Assist with the client contact and refinancing of maturing/matured balloon amount in a timely manner.
- Ageing bucket will be assigned as deemed fit by the leader of the unit.
- Assist with preparing the report for outstanding debts after repossessed vehicles are sold.
- Assist with the repossession process - complete the repossessed vehicle checklist, collection of the vehicles, assisting the appraisers and any other matter pertaining to repossessions.
- Assist with queries from the external debt collectors.
Competencies, qualifications, and experience required
- A minimum of an Associate degree in Accounting, Banking and Finance, ACCA Level II, or equivalent
- A minimum of four years’ experience in a similar capacity.
- Proven track record of success in collections and deliquency management.
- Must be able to multi-task and meet strict deadlines.
- Excellent written and oral skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills,
- Must be detailed oriented, with a history of making minimal errors.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, with strong emphasis on Excel.
- Must have a clean police record.
