Job Title: Head Chef
Job Summary: To provide oversight of the operations of the Hotel Kitchen towards generating revenue and maximizing guest satisfaction.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• To work closely with the Hotel Manager towards the development of menus for Restaurant based on agreed upon themes, concepts and promotions.
• Managing the inventory of ingredients and preparing requisitions for the ordering of goods to ensure that menu items are available to Restaurant customers.
• Preparation and cooking of dishes for the Restaurant meal service in line with the established menus, while ensuring that consistency in the quality of food is maintained at a high standard.
• Monitoring the inventory of kitchen equipment, and making recommendations to the Hotel Manager on items to be purchased/serviced/replaced.
• Monitoring the inventory of cleaning supplies for the Kitchen towards ensuring that a hygienic, organized environment in the Kitchen is maintained at all times.
• To ensure that all Kitchen supplies are properly received and stored.
• Supervising the Kitchen staff to ensure that teamwork is demonstrated towards the smooth operation of the Kitchen, and make recommendations on disciplinary action to the Hotel Manager where necessary.
• Performs any other related duties delated to the efficient and effective operation of the Kitchen
Qualifications/Experience:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Culinary Arts from an accredited institution.
• At least five (5) years’ experience working in a culinary environment, at least two (2) of which should have been at a supervisory level.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office as evidenced by a certificate
• Any combination of relevant qualifications and experience may be considered
