The Delivery Driver is responsible for the safe, timely, and accurate delivery of company products to retail stores, supermarkets, pharmacies, convenience stores, and other customers on assigned routes. The role requires professionalism, punctuality, and good customer service skills.
Main duties include loading and unloading goods, checking orders against invoices or delivery notes, securing products properly for transport, and ensuring all deliveries are completed correctly and on time. The Driver must obtain signatures or proof of delivery and collect payments when required according to company procedures.
The Driver is also responsible for the daily care and basic inspection of the assigned vehicle, including checking tyres, lights, fuel, fluids, and cleanliness. Any accidents, damages, or maintenance issues must be reported immediately. Safe driving and compliance with all traffic laws are essential.
When deliveries are completed or during slower periods, the Driver may assist in merchandising in stores, stocking shelves, checking displays, and reporting customer feedback or sales opportunities.
Candidates must hold a valid driver’s licence, have a clean driving record, and be physically fit to lift and carry products safely. Reliability, honesty, attention to detail, and time management are important. Previous experience in delivery driving or FMCG distribution is an asset.
