Our client located in Port of Spain is seeking to fill the position of an Accounting Assistant and Accounts Payable 

Salary range: $7000 -$7500.00

Must have ACCA II or equivalent qualifications

KEY DUTIES:

Prepares journal entries for posting to the General Ledger
 Check all Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable batches before
posting to the general ledger
 Reconcile all General Ledger accounts as assigned & prepares Bank
reconciliations
 Verify VAT & Business Levy computation
 Prepare Audit File
 Maintain Fixed Asset File
 Prepare reports to government institutions (Central Statistical Office)
 Ensure that penalties are not incurred for late or for submission of
inaccurate date
 Check and verify Company’s weekly payroll, in consultation with
Payroll Officer
 Preparation of Wire transfers
 Performs inter-company reconciliation
 Verification of Cheque payments to suppliers
 Verification of all Local & Foreign Transfers & Wire Transfers
 Checking of payments to Comptroller of Customs and Excise
 To learn and assist in all General Ledger, Foreign Payables & Payroll
Functions and any other Accounting Related Functions eg Accounts
Receivable & Local Accounts Payables.
 Observe all Occupational Safety and Health regulations as per company
policy
 Any other related duties as assigned by the Group Finance Manager

Qualifications: Experience: Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

 Seven O’Levels including Mathematics & English
 Should have completed ACCA Level 1 or the equivalent and should be
currently pursuing ACCA Level 2 or the equivalent
 At least 3 years’ experience in a similar capacity
 Computer literacy
 Team Player.
 Organized and systematic work ethics
 Must be able to communicate properly
