Position Summary
The Production Manager is responsible for leading end-to-end manufacturing operations, ensuring production targets for quality, cost, delivery, and safety are consistently achieved. This role focuses on optimizing resources, driving operational efficiency, and fostering a high-performance culture through continuous improvement and best practices.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
• Direct and coordinate production activities to meet quality, quantity, and timeline targets
• Optimize utilization of labor, materials, and machinery to maximize efficiency
• Ensure adherence to production schedules and address operational deviations
• Plan and align manufacturing activities with demand forecasts and business needs
• Collaborate cross-functionally with supply chain, planning, and sales teams
• Enforce quality standards, food safety, hygiene, and compliance requirements
• Maintain audit-ready systems, processes, and documentation
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives using lean manufacturing principles
• Identify inefficiencies and implement solutions to improve productivity and reduce waste
• Monitor and improve equipment effectiveness and reduce downtime
• Lead, develop, and manage production teams to achieve performance targets
• Ensure optimal staffing levels and build leadership capability within teams
• Prepare and manage production budgets while controlling operational costs
• Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising safety or quality
• Oversee inventory management and alignment with production output
• Work closely with maintenance teams to ensure equipment reliability
• Support preventative maintenance and capital improvement initiatives
• Promote and enforce health, safety, and environmental standards
• Foster strong internal stakeholder relationships and employee engagement
• Monitor key performance metrics and use data to drive decision-making
• Ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements
Qualifications & Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Manufacturing Engineering, Production Engineering, Process Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of six (6) years’ experience in a manufacturing environment, including at least four (4) years in a managerial role.
• Strong knowledge of food safety regulations, and quality standards
• Experience working with ERP systems
• Proven ability to manage high-volume production operations
Skills & Competencies
