Delivery Driver

We are looking to hire an enthusiastic and driven Delivery Driver. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe, efficient, and accurate delivery of company products to customers while maintaining high standards of professionalism and customer service. The role involves vehicle operation, order verification, documentation, payment collection where applicable, and adherence to all company safety and operational policies. The Delivery Driver is also responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and basic condition of the assigned delivery vehicle and supporting warehouse and inventory activities as required.

Core Duties & Responsibilities

• Carry out deliveries to customers according to assigned routes and schedules.
• Load, secure, and unload products safely and accurately.
• Pick goods according to order sheets and verify delivery quantities.
• Complete all delivery documentation, log sheets, and obtain customer signatures.
• Collect cheques from customers when instructed and ensure proper receipts are issued.
• Maintain regular communication with the dispatcher regarding delivery status or delays.
• Operate company vehicles safely, responsibly, and in compliance with road traffic laws.
• Keep delivery vehicles clean, orderly, and in good working condition.
• Report vehicle defects, accidents, or maintenance issues promptly to supervision.
• Assist with basic vehicle and equipment maintenance as required.
• Follow all company policies, SAA procedures, and safety regulations.
• Wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Participate in stock counts and support inventory control activities.
• Maintain professional, courteous interactions with customers and team members.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Performance Expectations

• Accountability for assigned vehicle, goods, delivery documents, and delivery assistant.
• Accurate and timely deliveries with proper documentation and customer sign-off.
• Proper handling and documentation of returned or refused goods.
• Immediate reporting and resolution of delivery-related issues through appropriate channels.
• Consistent adherence to safety, operational, and customer service standards.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Valid open General Driver’s Licence.
• Ability to drive 20,000 tonnes trucks and split gear trucks
• Knowledge of road safety regulations and safe driving practices.
• Ability to read, understand, and complete delivery documents.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Physically fit to load and unload products.
• Strong sense of responsibility, honesty, and reliability.

Work Environment

• Primarily field-based with frequent driving and deliveries.
• Exposure to warehouse operations and outdoor conditions.
• Requires adherence to strict safety and PPE standards.
