As we progress on this exciting journey, we are seeking a Head of Human Resources to play strategic roles in the day-to-day managing of our Human Resources operations.

Position Summary
The Head of Human Resources is responsible for leading Liat Air’s HR function, ensuring alignment of people strategy with organizational goals. This role oversees talent acquisition, employee relations, compensation and benefits, training and development, facilities, and HR administration across all territories where Liat Air operates. The Head of Human Resources will plan, lead, develop, and coordinate the human resources policies and activities. The position will serve as a strategic partner to the executive team, fostering a culture of accountability, engagement, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership
- Develop and implement HR strategies and policies, aligned with Liat Air’s corporate objectives.
- Advise the Executive Management on workforce planning, succession, and organizational development.
- Drive initiatives that strengthen employee engagement, retention, and performance.
- Supervision of training, facilities and general administration teams.
- Develop and implement HR departmental budget.
- Facilitate professional development, training, and certification activities for HR staff.
- Identify key performance indicators for the company’s human resource functions; assess the company’s success and competitiveness based on these metrics.
Talent Acquisition and Onboarding
- Lead recruitment and selection processes for all levels of staff.
- Ensure onboarding programs are standardized, efficient, and supportive of new hires’ transition.
- Partner with department heads to forecast staffing needs.
Employee Relations and Compliance
- Oversee employee relations, grievance handling, and disciplinary processes.
- Ensure compliance with labor laws and aviation regulatory requirements across multiple jurisdictions (ECCAA, ICAO, local labor codes) and align policies and practices to maintain compliance.
- Maintain HR policies and procedures that are transparent, equitable, and legally compliant.
- Lead the delivery of HR programmes that drive employee retention, engagement and development
- Work with managers, employees and appropriate others to respond to all employee relations issues in ways that foster a positive work environment.
Compensation and Benefits
- Design and manage competitive compensation structures and benefits programs.
- Conduct market benchmarking to ensure Liat Air remains an employer of choice.
- Oversee payroll accuracy and benefits administration.
Training and Development
- Implement training programs to enhance technical, leadership, and customer service skills.
- Drive succession planning and leadership development initiatives.
- Partner with external institutions for specialized aviation and compliance training.
HR Operations and Performance Reporting
- Lead HRIS implementation and ensure accurate employee data management.
- Prepare executive level HR performance reports, including workforce metrics, attrition, and policy compliance.
- Oversee performance appraisal systems and ensure alignment with organizational goals.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field is required.
- Master's degree is desirable
- Professional HR certification (e.g., SHRM‑SCP, CIPD, CHRP) is preferred.
- Minimum 10 years’ progressive HR leadership experience, with at least 5 years at senior management level.
- Experience in aviation, travel management companies or highly regulated industries is desirable.
- Strong knowledge of Caribbean labor laws and multi‑jurisdictional compliance.
- Knowledge of, and experience with varied human resource information systems.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and related software
