Key Duties & Responsibilities:

• This is an advisory and supporting role which reports to the General Manager of the Medical Board of Trinidad and Tobago.

• Provide legal research, analysis, and drafting support on matters before the Council and its Committees.
• Oversee and co-ordinate the administration and conduct of disciplinary matters and tribunal hearings.
• Assist in conducting meetings and the preparation of Minutes, and associated documentation.
• Review and interpret statutes, regulations, and policies affecting Council and the operations of the Board.
• Support the development and implementation of governance and compliance frameworks.
• Liaise with stakeholders, including government bodies and legal representatives.
• Maintain proper records and follow-up on tribunal and committee action items.
• Other related tasks.

 REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree and Legal Education Certificate (LEC) or equivalent qualification.
• Admission to practise law in Trinidad and Tobago; must be in good standing with the Law Association of Trinidad and Tobago.
• Minimum two (2) years of relevant legal experience. Experience in public law would be an asset.
• Strong legal research, writing, analytical and overall communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Knowledge of the court practice and procedures and rules of evidence.
• Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with fellow employees and members of the Board and the public.
