POSITION PURPOSE
The Project Manager is responsible for leading and coordinating multiple cross-functional projects across a dynamic FMCG beverage manufacturing and distribution environment. The role ensures successful delivery of projects within defined timelines, budgets, and quality standards, while managing risks, stakeholders, and resources across departments and external partners.
ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Develop and manage project plans, timelines, budgets, and resource requirements
- Define project scope, objectives, deliverables, and success measures
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget
- Manage multiple concurrent projects and dependencies
- Coordinate cross-functional execution across FMCG operations
- Maintain complete and accurate project documentation
- Work across Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Sales, Finance, HR, Engineering, Procurement, and Quality functions
- Facilitate project meetings, workshops, and progress reviews
- Manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Coordinate with suppliers, contractors, and vendors supporting beverage production and distribution
- Ensure clear communication across all project stages.
- Ensure compliance with internal governance and FMCG industry standards
- Identify and manage project risks and issues
- Maintain risk and issue logs and escalate where necessary
- Ensure adherence to safety, quality, and regulatory requirements in beverage manufacturing
- Support audit readiness and compliance activities
- Develop and manage project budgets and forecasts
- Monitor expenditure and control costs effectively as well as analyze variances and recommend corrective actions
- Support procurement and vendor negotiations and ensures financial alignment with approved budgets
- Prepare project reports, dashboards, and executive updates
- Track KPIs and project milestones
- Escalate risks, delays, and scope changes
- Conduct post-project reviews and capture lessons learned
- Identify opportunities for efficiency and process improvement
- Support operational transformation initiatives
- Assist in implementation of new systems and workflows
- Develop SOPs and process documentation
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Project Management, or related field
- PMP, PRINCE2, Agile, Scrum, or equivalent certification preferred
- Minimum seven (7) years’ experience managing projects in FMCG, manufacturing, engineering, or supply chain environments
- At least four (4) years in a project management or supervisory capacity
- Experience in carbonated and non-carbonated non-alcoholic beverage production, manufacturing, or distribution environments is required
Technical Competencies
- Strong understanding of project management methodologies and tools
- Proficiency in MS Project, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and project tracking systems (e.g. Jira, Trello, Asana)
- Knowledge of budgeting, procurement, cost control, and project governance
- Experience with ERP systems and operational transformation projects
- Ability to develop project plans, risk registers, dashboards, and status reports
