The Business Development Officer will be responsible for developing and executing marketing and sales strategies, managing a small sales team, and driving consistent revenue growth. This role will work closely with CEO and the technical and operations teams to ensure accurate project scoping, proposal development, and successful project handovers.
The ideal candidate will possess strong personal leadership ability, business development expertise, and a solid understanding of marketing and sale system development
Sales Strategy and Leadership
• Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve revenue and growth targets
• Assist in the development and implementation of marketing and sales strategies
• Define and establish new distribution channels through which solar system and other energy efficiency devices can be sold to grow the business.
• Lead and manage sales reps and affiliates to improve performance and productivity.
• Identify new market opportunities and customer segments.
• Represent the company at client meetings, industry events, and networking engagements.
• Manage key accounts and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
• Conduct site visits and client consultations when required.
Proposal and Contract Management
• Oversee preparation of proposals, quotations, and bid submissions.
• Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to ensure technical accuracy.
• Lead contract negotiations and close sales agreements.
• Ensure proper documentation and handover to project delivery teams.
Sales Operations and Reporting
• Maintain accurate sales forecasts and pipeline tracking.
• Use CRM systems to manage leads and customer data.
• Monitor sales performance and prepare regular management reports.
• Continuously improve sales processes and workflows.
Qualifications and Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, Renewable Energy, or related field.
• 3 to 4 years of sales leadership or business development experience, preferably in renewable energy, construction, engineering, or technical services.
• Proven track record of meeting or exceeding revenue targets.
• Curiosity and understanding of solar systems would be an asset.
• Experience using CRM, sales reporting tools and other digital technology platforms is important.
