Join the team that supports Jamaica’s entrepreneurs. The Jamaica Business Development Corporation (JBDC) is seeking a meticulous and motivated Warehouse Assistant to join our team. As the premier government agency for MSME development, we are looking for a dedicated individual to help manage inventory, support Things Jamaican™ retail operations, and ensure our products move efficiently 'From Concept to Market'.
Responsibilities:
- Inventory Control: Manage the accurate tagging, packing, and transferring of goods between the warehouse and retail stores.
- Stock Management: Assist with daily disbursements, receipts, and rigorous stock count activities (including regular cycle counts).
- Logistics Support: Accompany drivers for deliveries and prepare specialized packaging for stores and custom orders.
- Quality Assurance: Monitor and submit weekly logs on inventory quality, identifying discrepancies, damages, or expirations.
- Data & Admin: Perform data entry for store performance analytics and maintain organized logs for event furniture and fixtures.
- Customer Service: Provide high-quality support to both internal and external stakeholders.
- Process Excellence: Apply the 'Plan, Do, Check, Act' (PDCA) cycle to all tasks in strict adherence to ISO 9001:2015 standards.
Qualifications, Experience and Key Competencies
- 5 CXC or CSEC subjects including English Language, Mathematics/Principles of Accounts.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar position
- Possession of a valid Open General Driver’s Licence (minimum 4000 kg) would be an asset
