Accounting Technician ( Construction Sector)

Job Summary:
Our client in the construction industry is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accounting Technician with strong proficiency in Peachtree Accounting software (mandatory) to support the Accounting Officer on a 3-month project.
The ideal candidate will assist in reviewing, correcting, and organizing financial records, while supporting key accounting functions and ensuring accurate financial reporting for construction-related project accounts.This role requires a hands-on, experienced accounting professional who is confident working independently in Peachtree.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and update accurate financial records using Peachtree Accounting software (required)
- Review and process accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely payments and collections
- Reconcile bank accounts, project budgets, and general ledger entries
- Assist in preparing financial statements, reports, and project cost summaries
- Identify and correct discrepancies as part of the clean-up process
- Track expenditures and ensure proper allocation to construction projects
- Support payroll processing and assist with job costing, including VAT and NIS calculations
- Assist with audits, tax filings, and compliance with financial regulations
- Collaborate with the Accounting Officer and project managers to ensure financial accuracy
- Maintain documentation for contracts, invoices, and vendor records
Qualifications and Experience:
- 5 years accounting experience
- Strong proficiency in Peachtree Accounting software (mandatory)
- ACCA Level 2 (or equivalent progress toward ACCA qualification)
- Experience in data entry and financial record keeping
- Knowledge of tax processes and basic tax preparation
- Strong understanding of general accounting functions
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, ACCA, or related field (preferred)
- Must be competent, confident, and able to perform accounting duties independently
Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with local and regional financial regulations
- Experience in multi-project construction environments
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
