Applications are invited from persons with suitable qualifications to fill the position of “Manager & Team Lead, Corporate & Commercial Banking” at Republic Bank (Anguilla) Ltd.
The incumbent is responsible for the overall success of the Commercial Business line, which includes meeting financial objectives related to the profitable growth and retention of the Corporate & Commercial portfolio. In addition, the incumbent must achieve team objectives related to customer service, human resource management and operational effectiveness, along with developing a sales/marketing and client strategy. The jobholder must ensure that all appropriate controls, efficiency of operations, and processes relative to credit quality and profitability are maintained to minimize risk to the Bank and its customers.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Champion a customer-focused culture to deepen client relationships, and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
- In-depth understanding of local economies, markets and industries.
- Develop and lead implementation of tactical plans to support the overall strategy for the commercial area and achievement of business objectives.
- Maintain, improve, and retain relationships within the customer portfolio while ensuring an active and aggressive Business Development program.
- Maintain a high-market profile within the assigned market area with both internal and external contacts by identifying and maintaining key business contacts and centres of influence.
- Oversee the profitable development of Commercial and Corporate Credit business in the assigned territories.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of an acceptable quality commercial credit portfolio, commercial credit policies, and the strategic direction of the Corporate and Commercial Bank.
- Maintain adherence to the Guidelines for Business Conduct and participate in regional ALCO to safeguard assets and liabilities.
- Execute the Branch Compliance responsibilities regarding KYC, AML, ATF and other regulatory requirements.
- Understand and monitor how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
- Lead and manage direct reports by providing direction, coaching, training and deal assistance, negotiating goals/plans, monitoring/analysing results, preparing individualised development plans, etc.

- Undergraduate degree in business or economics.
- Postgraduate degree in a business-related field is required.
- Experience of at least 10 years, 5 of which includes Management or Senior Leadership experience in the commercial credit sector.
- Expert knowledge of:
- Sales management techniques, including interviewing, solicitation and business development techniques
- Expert relationship building skills and strong sales/closing capabilities
- Commercial Banking products and services, including systems, routines and operating procedures
- Commercial management platforms, commercial lending and deposit products and services, and customer profitability models
- Excellent analytical and credit skills and sound judgement, as demonstrated through previous track record and experience.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Undergraduate degree in business or economics.
- Postgraduate degree in a business-related field is required.
