The Ministry of Water, Environment and Climate Change is seeking to recruit a suitably qualified candidate for the vacant post of Greenhouse Gas Inventory Officer (GMG/SEG 3) salary range $5,198,035 to $6,990,779 per annum.
Key Responsibility Areas:
Technical/Professional Responsibilities
Manage and maintain the national MRV system with secured online access by authorized suppliers and managers of relevant data, as the system will facilitate data collection, analysis, verification and reporting.
Implement the use of monitoring and evaluation (M&E) tools to provide long term reliable and consistent data on climate mitigation; adaptation, climate financing, capacity building efforts and GHG emissions.
Provide technical input for climate policies, mitigation plans, NDC (Nationally Determined Contribution) updates, and project proposals.
MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science, Climate Science, Geography, Natural Resources Management, Engineering, or related field.
At least six (6) years experience in climate change, GHG accounting, emissions inventory development/auditing, environmental data management, or related analytical work.
