Role Purpose
The Technical Services Supervisor is responsible for leading and developing the Company’s technical services function. This role supervises the technical team, coordinates installations, repairs, and deliveries, and ensures the consistent execution of high-quality technical support and after-sales service. The position carries direct accountability for service reliability, scheduling discipline, customer resolution, and continuous improvement of the Technical Services Department.
Key Responsibilities
1. Team Leadership & Performance Management
• Lead, supervise, and evaluate technicians and support staff.
• Assign daily and weekly work schedules for installations, repairs, and service calls.
• Enforce safety, quality, and operational standards.
• Identify skills gaps and implement corrective training.
• Drive productivity, accountability, and compliance across the technical team.
2. Installation, Repairs & Service Delivery
- Oversee and, when required, participate in installation, troubleshooting, and repair of all company solutions.
- Ensure jobs are completed on time, within scope, and to specification
- Approve technical methods and materials used on projects.
- Monitor workmanship quality and minimize rework and defects.
3. Planning, Scheduling & Coordination
- Plan, schedule and coordinate all technical jobs, deliveries and service visits.
- Conduct site assessments and prepare accurate material lists and job scopes.
- Coordinate logistics, fleet usage, and technician development.
- Maintain service calendars and ensure optimal resource utilization.
4. Project Management & Technical Support
- Coordinate projects involving products and or services offered by the company.
- Work closely with engineers, contractors, and suppliers to deliver projects.
- Prepare quotations, tenders, and technical proposals when required.
- Provide advanced technical support for complex customer issues.
5. After-Sales & Customer Resolution
- Manage after- sales cases and service tickets to ensure timely resolution.
- Investigate recurring technical failures and implement preventative measures.
- Maintain clear communication with customers throughout service processes.
- Ensure documentation of all service activities.
6. Systems, Tools & Process Development
- Develop and improve technical systems, workflows, and reporting structures.
- Manage tools, equipment, and material inventories.
- Implement procedures to improve efficiency, reduce losses, and control costs.
- Support the development of standardized job documentation and checklists.
7. Training & Capability Development
- Design and implement structures training programmes for technicians.
- Conduct onboarding and continuous skills development
- Support cross- training across product categories
- Maintain up-to-date technical knowledge of all company solutions
8. Fleet & Resource Management
- Oversee technical fleet usage, maintenance, and compliance
- Monitor fuel, maintenance, and vehicle performance
- Ensure proper handling and transportation of equipment and materials.
9. Research & Development
- Participate in product and solution evaluation
- Support testing and development of new technologies
- Contribute to the improvement of existing product lines and service methods
10. Compliance & Reporting
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, electrical codes, and company policies.
- Prepare operational and performance reports
- Maintain accurate job records and service documentation
- Perform other duties as assigned by management
Requirements & Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree/Associate's Degree in electrical, mechanical, Electronics, or related technical discipline
Experience
- Minimum five (5) years hands- on technical experience
- Proven experience supervising technicians
- Experience with solar, appliances, HVAC, or energy systems is a strong advantage
Technical Competencies
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Working knowledge of technical drawings and CAD tools is an asset
- Ability to prepare material lists, quotations, and job estimates
- Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical systems
