This role will be responsible for market intelligence, merchandising standards, marketing execution, and retail development initiatives across the Barbados business. The position will work closely with the Category Manager stationed in Barbados who is responsible for product sourcing, supplier management, pricing, and category profitability.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Conduct competitor analysis across pharmacy, health, beauty and convenience retail sectors.
- Monitor competitor pricing, promotions, product assortment, and merchandising strategies.
- Provide market intelligence reports and strategic recommendations.
- Work closely with the Category Manager to ensure product assortment reflects local market demand.
- Identify opportunities to enhance category performance and enhance high growth segments.
- Develop and implement merchandising standards across stores.
- Create and maintain planograms and category adjacencies.
- Optimize store layout and customer flow to enhance shopping experience.
- Develop and manage the annual and monthly marketing calendar.
- Coordinate in-store promotions and marketing campaigns.
- Support digital, social media, and local marketing initiatives.
- Provide merchandising and category input for new store development.
- Conduct catchment and competitor analysis for new store locations.
Key Performance Indicators:
- Sales growth across retail categories.

Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Retail Management, Commerce or related field.
- 5 – 10 years’ experience in retail merchandising, category management, FMCG or Pharmacy Retail, and marketing or commercial strategy.
- Strong understanding of retail merchandising and category management.
- Ability to analyze market and competitor data.
- Experience executing marketing campaigns.
- Strong commercial and analytical skill.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management.
- Ability to work cross-functionally with buying, marketing, and store teams.
