OVERVIEW
The Cementing Operations Manager is accountable and responsible for all employees, processes and assets required to execute preparatory, post, and on-site Cementing operations services to customers.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- BSc Engineering Degree or equivalent
- Minimum of five (5) CXC O’Level passes (including Math and English) AND Two (a) A Level passes
- At least ten (10) years’ experience in Cementing Operations as a Supervisor with full capacity and understanding of the responsibilities and accountabilities of the various job roles required to deliver processes and assets to the client.
ACCOUNTABILITY
The Operations Manager – Cementing is directly accountable to the Business Unit Manager – Cementing and works directly with the Cementing Technical Manager and the Base Manager/Design Centre Manager.

OPERATIONS
Processes
- Coordinates with the Technical Manager and the Chaguaramas Base/Cementing Design Centre Manager – Cementing to effectively plan and execute all cementing jobs.
- Liaises with relevant stakeholders to resolve customer complaints in a timely and efficient manner.
- Ensures all work is planned and executed in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and client contract requirements.
- Establishes and conducts pre- and post-job meetings for Cementing Operations.
- Ensures all jobs are executed safely and efficiently, while maintaining good housekeeping practices.
Assets
- Establishes and documents procedures for Cementing Operations, including pre-job, post-job, and maintenance of assets.
- Establishes and maintains an effective load-out process for scheduled work.
- Ensures compliance with TESL’s Asset Management System and enforces adherence among cementing staff.
- Ensures timely servicing and maintenance of tools and equipment, including packing and inventory of toolboxes.
- Supervises and verifies preventative maintenance on all units in collaboration with the Maintenance Department.
Personnel
- Communicates and documents all job-related requirements to operations staff to ensure effective service delivery.
- Ensures all operations checklist paperwork is submitted for jobs executed.
- Ensures post-job meetings are conducted and documented, including lessons learnt and action tracking.
- Identifies competency, training, and assessment needs and collaborates with HR for execution.
- Monitors staff performance and objectives and initiates disciplinary action, in consultation with HR, where necessary.
Servicing/Marketing
- Visits clients/customers regularly to gain feedback on services provided.
- Ensures follow-up job analysis is conducted with clients to address issues and improve future job performance.
Finance
- Monitors and controls operating and personnel expenses within the Cementing Business Unit.
- Ensures tickets are prepared and submitted in accordance with company financial processes and procedures.
- Assists with tender preparation and the development of the Annual Business Plan, ensuring acceptable returns and consideration of market trends.
