JANITORIAL SUPERVISOR
A growing Janitorial Company is seeking to recruit an efficient Janitorial Supervisor to supervise the work activities of our janitorial staff.
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
The successful applicant will be expected to:
- Supervise janitorial staff and oversee their daily tasks including jobs required to be completed on weekends.
- Develop and implement cleaning schedules and maintenance plans. Further, to review these schedules monthly and confirm that they are being followed.
- Visit ALL locations for Kingston once per week, all other locations once per quarter and ensure that all cleaning tasks are completed on time and to a high standard.
- Ensure that a monthly Audit of safety equipment is done and items purchased where necessary.
- Train staff in cleaning techniques, safety procedures, and proper use of equipment.
- Evaluate staff performance (especially those of the team leaders) and provide feedback and coaching quarterly.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and industry standards.
- Communicate and coordinate with other departments and building management as needed.
- Communicate with customers from time to time to ensure that their needs are met.
- Respond to emergencies or urgent client requests in the most efficient manner possible.
- Resolve janitorial staff conflicts in an efficient manner.
- Assist in the Tender process.
- Identify new business opportunities.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or GED is preferred.
- Proven experience working as a Janitorial Supervisor.
- Proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications.
SKILLS REQUIRED:
The incumbent must have:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Effective leadership skills to ensure timely completion of staffs’ janitorial duties.
- Working knowledge of various cleaning methods.
- Possess professional discretion and maintain confidentiality.
- The ability to stand for extended periods of time and lift heavy equipment.
