The Logistics & Distribution Supervisor

The Logistics & Distribution Supervisor is responsible for the end-to-end planning, coordination, and management of LPG and Industrial/Medical Gas distribution operations. This role ensures safe, efficient, and technology-enabled delivery of products to customers while maintaining strict compliance with hazardous goods transportation standards and company safety policies.

Main Duties 

• Plan, coordinate, and oversee daily distribution of LPG and industrial/medical gases to ensure timely and safe delivery.

• Monitor fleet operations using GPS and telematics systems to ensure optimal vehicle utilization and performance.

• Analyze routing and delivery data to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and minimize delays.

• Ensure fleet readiness by coordinating vehicle maintenance, inspections, and compliance requirements.

• Supervise dispatch operations, aligning delivery schedules with production output and customer demand.

• Monitor fuel consumption, idle time, and other fleet metrics to drive operational efficiency.

• Oversee driver performance using telematics data and conduct coaching, training, and corrective actions as needed.

• Ensure compliance with hazardous materials transportation regulations and company HSE policies.

• Promote and enforce a strong safety culture through audits, training, and continuous monitoring.

• Investigate incidents, accidents, and near-misses and implement corrective and preventive measures.

• Manage electronic proof-of-delivery (ePOD) systems and ensure accurate and timely billing and documentation.

• Coordinate emergency and priority deliveries, including critical medical gas supplies.

• Track and report key performance indicators (KPIs) such as delivery efficiency, fleet utilization, and safety metrics.

• Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance service delivery and reduce costs.

• Collaborate with internal teams (operations, maintenance, finance, and IT) to improve logistics performance and system reliability.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Operations Management, or related discipline.
• Minimum of 7 years’ experience in logistics or fleet operations.
• Experience managing distribution operations involving hazardous materials or regulated products.
• Proven experience working with vehicle tracking systems, telematics platforms, and electronic delivery systems.
• Strong knowledge of transport safety regulations and fleet management practices.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to provide direction to, listen to and inspire others.
• Ability to work to tight deadlines and deliver results.
