Qualifications, Expertise and Experience:
a. Education
i. A graduate academic degree in Environmental Management, Natural Resource Management or related field or;
ii. Relevant Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) with two additional years of qualifying experience
iii. Training and or certification in Project Management (PMP or PRINCE2 certification is highly desirable)
b. Work Experience and Related Knowledge
i. A minimum of 5 years of demonstrated experience in project technical facilitation, and working in the
management of environmental issues, policies, biodiversity, ecosystems protected areas, forest management,
sustainable land management or related field.
ii. Experience in biodiversity conservation, environmental issues, environment and planning policies, sustainable
land and forest management or related community development
iii. Experience in facilitating consultative processes, preferably in the field of natural resource management;
iv. Proven ability to promote cooperation between and negotiate with a range of stakeholders, and to organize and coordinate multi-disciplinary teams;
v. Demonstrable ability to organize, facilitate, and mediate technical teams to achieve stated project objectives;
vi. Demonstrable knowledge of biodiversity conservation and management international principles and issues within the Jamaican context would be an asset.
