Position Overview
The Territory Sales Representative is responsible for growing sales within an assigned geographic territory. This role includes both account management of a mature customer portfolio and new business development, targeting industrial, commercial, and logistics clients.
The ideal candidate possesses strong sales skills, technical aptitude, and a passion for understanding client needs. You will promote and sell new and used forklifts, warehouse solutions, rental services, and packaging materials while ensuring seamless coordination with internal departments to support customer success.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Business Development
- Expand sales of New Trucks, Used Trucks, Warehouse Solutions, Short-Term Rentals (STR), and Packaging Materials.
- Proactively identify new business opportunities and convert prospects into long-term customers.
- Meet with a minimum of 20 face-to-face appointments per week, achieved through scheduled visits and cold calling.
- Complete 2 telephone days per month, with a target of 40 calls per day (80 per month).
- Prepare, present, and follow up on a minimum of 40 quotations per month.
- Independently prepare and issue quotations to customers, ensuring accuracy and alignment with RML pricing and product standards.
- Add at least 2 new accounts to CRM each month.
- Consistently achieve annual sales targets.
Client Engagement & Relationship Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective clients.
- Conduct professional product demonstrations to advance the sales process.
- Complete site surveys using the site survey form.
- Provide tailored proposals that highlight product value, features, and ROI.
- Follow lead process and ensure timely follow-ups.
Internal Collaboration
- Work closely with Service, Parts, and Projects teams to deliver seamless after-sales support.
- Maintain positive internal relationships to ensure smooth execution of orders.
- Attend all sales meetings and one-on-one sessions with the Sales Manager.
Administrative Responsibilities
- Update CRM daily with accurate activity logs, opportunities, and customer information.
- Process orders following company’s order-booking procedures.
- Conduct market research and stay informed on industry trends and competitor offerings.
- Complete required online LMS modules and participate in training programs.
- Promote and adhere to workplace safety standards.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Skills
- Proven experience in industrial equipment sales, preferably forklifts, material handling, or related technologies.
- Technical understanding of forklift models, features, and accessories (training provided if needed).
- Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Goal-oriented with a record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
- Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
- Self-motivated and capable of working independently in a competitive market.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Knowledge of local industry conditions is an asset.
