JOB TITLE: Assistant Accountant – Fixed Assets / Intercompany / Receivables
REPORTS TO: Accountant
PURPOSE
Functional responsibility is to ensure that fixed assets, intercompany balances, and receivables are
accurately recorded, reconciled, and reported.
REQUIRED EDUCATION
- Undergraduate degree, preferably in Accounting or a related discipline.
- Level 2 ACCA or equivalent.
REQUIRED SKILLS / EXPERIENCE:
- At least 3 years’ experience in a computerised accounting environment within the retail sector.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications with emphasis on MS Excel.
- Experience with Oracle Financials would be an asset.
- Strong organizational/coordination skills and excellent at time management.
- Analytical and problem –solving skills.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Maintain the Registers for Fixed and Intangible Assets and related accounting records, including, but not limited to:
- Recording acquisitions and disposals.
- Recalculating depreciation and amortization.
- Ensuring tag numbers are assigned to all assets.
- Tracking projects and ensuring they are appropriately closed out.
- Ensure the accurate preparation and timely distribution of monthly intercompany recharges and
- statements.
- Ensure ongoing monitoring and reconciliation of the Debtors, Sales, and Other Income portfolios.
- Perform the analysis of accounts receivable transitory/control accounts.
- Analysis and monitoring of assigned GL accounts.
- Supervise the intercompany and receivables team.
- Any other tasks assigned that will assist in achieving the purpose stated above and or the
- company’s mission.
