VACANCY – CONVEYANCING ASSISTANT
J.D. Sellier & Co. invites applications for the position of Conveyancing Assistant. The successful candidate will assist Attorneys with the preparation and administration of conveyancing transactions and related legal documentation to ensure that clients are served efficiently and their matters progress smoothly.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare conveyancing and other legal documents, including Mortgages, Leases, Agreements for Sale, RPO instruments, and Powers of Attorney.
- Prepare Upstamp requests and follow through to ensure timely completion.
- Liaise with clients, Attorneys, developers, and relevant authorities to schedule appointments and provide status updates.
- Manage files and oversee the execution of matters from inception to completion.
- Oversee the stamping, registration, and closing of transactions.
- Prepare correspondence, invoices, and other administrative documents.
- Incorporate companies and handle mortgage bills of sale as required.
- Carry out other administrative duties to support the smooth operation of the department.
Required:
- Five O’ Level subjects, including English and Mathematics (Grades I or II).
- Three years conveyancing legal experience preferred but not required.
- High level of attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Initiative, sound judgment, independent thinking, and the willingness and ability to learn quickly.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Strong organisational, communication, and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
