Job Summary
The Warehouse Attendant is responsible for performing a full range of warehouse functions including receiving, inspection, storage, inventory management, order picking, packing, staging, dispatching, and maintaining warehouse cleanliness and safety. This role plays a critical part in ensuring accurate stock levels, timely order fulfillment, and compliance with company and regulatory standards. The Warehouse Attendant must operate with a high level of accuracy, follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and support continuous improvement of warehouse processes
Essential Duties and Responsibility
1. Receiving & Inbound Goods
- Unload inbound shipments using appropriate equipment (e.g., pallet jack, forklift where certified).
- Inspect incoming goods for quantity, quality, damage, and accuracy against purchase orders/delivery notes.
- Report discrepancies or damages immediately to the Warehouse Supervisor.
- Complete receiving documentation and update the inventory system as required.
- Label, sort, and store items in their designated warehouse locations following FIFO.
- Ensure all received goods are safely and neatly staged and organized.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the receiving area.
- Open and offload bales, crates, and other containers.
- Record amounts of materials or items received or distributed.
- Load and Offload trucks.

2. Picking, Packing & Order Preparation
- Accurately pick items according to pick lists, sales orders, or work orders.
- Verify product codes, quantities, and batch numbers before picking and packing.
- Pack goods securely to prevent damage during transit and affix correct labels.
- Stage completed orders in designated dispatch areas for final checks.
- Marking materials with identifying information.
- Weigh or count items for distribution within warehouse to ensure conformance to company standards.
- Arrange stocks and or parts in specified sequence for picking by other workers.
- Pick specific goods according to picking slips information.

3. Dispatching & Outbound Goods
- Prepare and load outbound shipments based on delivery schedules and dispatch instructions.
- Verify outbound goods against delivery notes, invoices, or shipping manifests.
- Ensure all dispatch documentation is properly completed and submitted.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dispatch area.
- Load and Offload trucks.

4. Inventory Management
- Assist with cycle counts, stock takes, and inventory audits.
- Help maintain accurate stock levels through proper handling and documentation.
- Notify supervisors of low stock, fast-moving items, and any irregularities.
5. Warehouse Operations & Safety
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment.
- Follow all company safety policies and SOPs
- Operate warehouse equipment safely and report any malfunctions.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance warehouse efficiency.
- Any other related duties assigned by Management.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 1–2 years’ experience in warehouse, logistics, or inventory handling (preferred).
- Basic computer skills (inventory systems experience is an asset).
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Must be able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Verbal and written ability
- Must have Mathematical Skills – ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Must have reasoning ability.
- Good teamwork.
- Forklift certification (will be an asset).
WORK CONDITIONS
- Warehouse setting with moderate to heavy lifting (up to 50lbs)
- May require shift work, overtime, or weekend duties depending on operational needs.
- Exposure to noise, dust, and varying temperatures.
