Senior Manager, Industrial Relations
The successful candidate will be responsible for facilitating employee and labour relations, resolving human resource issues as required, and implementing and maintaining labour relations programmes, policies, and procedures across the group, with the objective of fostering healthy work relationships and a positive, engaged work environment.
Specific Requirements/ Duties of the Position Include:
- Participating in strategic and operational discussions on industrial relations issues, priorities, and processes.
- Supporting the group-wide preparation of plans, policies, documents and reports, including organisational charts, labour agreements, employee handbooks and job descriptions
- Developing and maintaining effective working relationships with relevant stakeholders
- Assessing the overall employee relations through careful analysis and implementing innovative changes to improve morale, efficiency and performance
- Supporting the group-wide preparation of plans, policies, documents and reports that build and refine the company’s industrial relations framework
- Leading the creation and execution of employee engagement programmes and initiatives
- Knowledge of and interpretative skills pertaining to labour laws across the Caribbean
- Establishing and maintaining approved standards to provide meaningful information to guide continual improvement and further increase employee engagement, satisfaction, and retention.
- Assessing overall employee relations through careful analysis and implementation of innovative changes to improve morale, efficiency and performance
- Knowledge of Hospitality Uniform Standards and trends
- Supporting the adherence to occupational health and safety legislation obligations
- Ensuring the employee experience is consistent with its core business values and objectives.
- Partnering with both senior business stakeholders and HR teams to develop and implement employee experience best practices and programs.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Labour Relations, Business/related field, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Five (5) years of experience in a position of responsibility and supervisory duties.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, counseling, and negotiation skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
