A popular chain of quick-service restaurants is seeking an experienced and motivated Assistant Manager to join its Operations team. This is a hands-on leadership role focused on driving guest satisfaction, operational excellence, team development, and profitability across daily restaurant operations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Restaurant Operations & Leadership
- Support the Restaurant Manager in overseeing daily operations to achieve performance targets and maintain brand standards.
- Lead, train, motivate, and supervise team members and Shift Coordinators.
- Ensure high-quality food preparation, fast service delivery, and an excellent guest experience.
- Maintain proper sanitation, hygiene, and store presentation.
- Assist with handling guest complaints and ensure timely resolution.
Administrative & Financial Controls
- Assist with inventory management, stock orders, cash control, scheduling, reporting, and opening/closing procedures.
- Help monitor labour, waste, utilities, paper usage, and cost control measures.
- Ensure adherence to food safety procedures, company policies, and local labour laws.
Delivery Operations
- Ensure proper execution of delivery protocols, accurate daily logs, and cash float management for riders.
- Reconcile delivery cash records and ensure device compliance.
People Development
- Conduct training, performance management, and discipline where required.
- Foster teamwork, communication, and a culture of accountability and service excellence.
REQUIREMENTS
- Associate Degree and/or Supervisory Management Certification
- Certification in Inventory Management (an asset)
- Moderate computer skills
- Minimum 1 year experience in a food & beverage or team leadership environment
- Strong leadership, communication, and human relations skills
- Ability to multitask, problem-solve, and handle fast-paced environments
- Integrity, flexibility, strong work ethics, and willingness to work varied shifts
- Must be able to stand for long periods, lift items, and work in hot/cold conditions
