We are currently seeking a Licensed Funeral Director/Embalmer to join our dedicated team. The ideal candidate will demonstrate empathy, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to helping families celebrate the lives of their loved ones.
Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate and professional guidance to families during times of bereavement.
- Coordinate and oversee all aspects of funeral arrangements, including planning, logistics, and staff coordination.
- Prepare, embalm, dress, and cosmetize human remains in accordance with professional, legal, and sanitary standards.
- Maintain the funeral home, preparation areas, and equipment to the highest standards of cleanliness and safety.
- Assist in arranging and directing memorial and funeral services, ensuring that every detail reflects the wishes of the family.
- Perform restorative art and cosmetology when required to ensure dignified presentation of the deceased.
- Manage funeral-related sales with sensitivity, explaining available services and merchandise options.
- Liaise with local authorities, hospitals, clergy, and other relevant organizations to obtain necessary documentation and permits.
- Perform lifting and physical tasks associated with moving caskets, equipment, and assisting during services.
Qualifications & Skills
- Valid Funeral Director and Embalmer License (must meet Bermuda or relevant jurisdictional requirements or be eligible for reciprocal licensing).
- Minimum 5 years of experience in funeral service, embalming, and bereavement care.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a compassionate and professional demeanor.
- Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and embalming techniques.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time management abilities.
- Experience with event planning or coordinating services preferred.
- Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 100 lbs) and remain on your feet for extended periods.
- Skills in restorative art or cosmetology are an asset.
