Job Summary: The General Manager is responsible for the overall profitability, operational efficiency, and customer satisfaction of Bayview Motors Ltd. This role acts as the operational head of the dealership, overseeing all departments (Sales, Service, Parts, Body Shop, and Administration). The GM will translate the Managing Director’s strategic vision into daily execution, ensuring all departments meet financial goals while maintaining brand standards for our partners (Toyota, Suzuki, Ford, Daihatsu, etc.).
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Management: Accountable for the dealership’s P&L. Manage departmental budgets, control expenses, and ensure profitability across both Variable Operations (Sales) and Fixed Operations (Service/Parts).
- Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute strategic plans to increase market share in TCI. Serve as the primary liaison between Bayview Motors and OEM manufacturers/distributors.
- Operational Oversight: Ensure smooth daily operations. Resolve cross-departmental conflicts (e.g., between Sales and Service) to ensure a seamless customer lifecycle.
- Inventory Control: Oversee vehicle and parts inventory levels to maximize turnover and minimize carrying costs (aging inventory).
- Team Development: Mentor department managers (Sales Managers, Service Managers) to ensure high performance and retention.
- Compliance: Ensure the dealership operates within TCI laws and adheres to all manufacturer franchise agreements and brand standards.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum 7–10 years of automotive dealership experience, with at least 3 years in a GM or Assistant GM role.
- Operational Knowledge: Must have a strong understanding of "Fixed Operations" (Service and Parts), not just Sales.
- Leadership: Proven ability to manage a diverse team of 20+ employees.
- Financial Acumen: Ability to analyze financial statements and implement cost-control measures immediately.
