The Special Economic Zone Authority is the regulatory body under the Ministry of Industry, Investment and Commerce with responsibility for the establishment, development, and management of Special Economic Zones (SEZs) in Jamaica seeks to identify suitable candidates to fill the following positions:
SEZ In-Market Broker - Business Partner and Support Services

Job Summary:
The primary objective of the engagement is to strengthen JSEZA’s presence in key markets such as the United Arab Emirates, United States of America, Republic of China & United Kingdom with the following outcomes:
i. Lead generation and conversion.
ii. Synergistic relationships with key stakeholders, including industry associations and government agencies.
iii. Incentives and opportunities of Jamaica’s special economic zone regime promoted to investors and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities/ Functions
- Conduct market research to identify potential investors and business opportunities in key markets such as United Arab Emirates, United States of America, Republic of China & United Kingdom.
- Analyze industry trends and provide insights about conditions impacting investing in Jamaica’s SEZ regime and the conceptualized special economic zones.
- Develop and implement strategies to attract new investors to Jamaica’s Special Economic Zone Regime.
- Identify and convert four (4) leads for the special economic zone regime. The leads should have a minimum investment of United States One Million Five Hundred Thousand Dollars US$1,500,000 over a minimum space of 5000 square feet.
- Identify and convert leads for at least one (1) priority sector project of the four (4) conceptualized special economic zones including logistics, manufacturing, agro-processing, global digital services sector.
- Provide information for the development of media marketing materials and collaterals for the engagement of potential investors.
- Develop tailored presentations to showcase the SEZ regime.
- Coordinate promotional activities, including seminars, exhibitions, and media engagements, to enhance the visibility of Jamaica’s Special Economic Zone Regime.
- Establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including industry associations, public & private sector, government agencies, civil society and trade associations.
- Organize and participate in meetings, workshops, and networking events to promote SEZ initiatives.
- Prepare monthly progress reports.
- Document best practices, success stories, and lessons learned for future reference.
Minimum Education Requirements
i. A Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance, International Relations, Law, Economics, Law or a related field.
ii. A Master’s Degree is desired but not required.
iii. A minimum of seven (7) years’ experience in business development, finance, marketing, or economic development, preferably within the context of SEZs or other economic development/ investment promotions agencies.
iv. Strong knowledge of the Jamaican business environment and economic landscape.
v. Proven track record in lead generation and conversion as well as business development activities.
vi. Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
