MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Installing, configuring and maintaining computers, network systems and other related infrastructure devices to ensure maximum up time.
- Liaising with the Help Desk to resolve end user service requests to provide service in keeping with stipulated standards.
- Liaising with support organisation and service providers to ensure a high level of service.
- Maintaining installation and configuration documentation for all client application and systems.
- Providing support on major project initiatives that require network infrastructure involvement.
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
- A first degree in Computer Science or its equivalent.
- Technical Certification such as CompTIA A+, Network+ or its equivalent
- At least two (2) years’ working experience in the areas of data communication protocols and topologies used with PCs and small multi-users systems.
- Working Knowledge of all Windows Operating Systems, UNIX, Internet concepts and technologies and industry de-facto standard communication protocols e.g. TCP/IP
- Experience in the installation and maintenance of operating systems software for multi-users computer systems
- Ability to correctly diagnose and resolve computer systems problems (client server environment)
- Must be the holder of a valid driver’s licence
- Meticulous, service oriented, flexible, honest, security conscious
- In-depth knowledge of computer hardware, software and networking.
