Process Audits and Inspections
- Conduct and document internal audits of processes and procedures to ensure adherence to safety, quality standards, and SOP protocols; record audit findings thoroughly, capturing conformances and non-conformances identified during inspections, as well as any corresponding corrective actions.
- Perform regular and thorough inspections of plant operations to ensure adherence to GMP standards.
- Identify deviations or potential risks in production processes, cleanliness, documentation and employee compliance.
- Ensure all relevant areas of the plant, including equipment, personnel and procedures, meet regulatory and established company standards.
Documentation maintenance, review & traceability
- Responsible for maintaining and managing the quality documentation system to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Review, maintain and ensure the traceability of quality documents related to manufacturing processes, product specifications, audits and corrective actions.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure SOP’s and other quality documents reflect current practices and standards.
Customer Complaints
- Investigate all customer complaints in a timely manner, identifying root causes and recommend appropriate solutions, so as to maintain customer satisfaction
Training and Continuous Improvement
- Implement and assist in training production staff on quality control procedures, product specifications, and GMP guidelines.
- Provide feedback and suggestions to improve quality control processes and systems.
- Assist in the development of new product quality standards and procedures.
Production Sampling and Testing:
- Perform physical, chemical and microbiological tests on product samples to verify quality, safety and compliance with established specifications.
- Assist with testing and inspection of raw materials, packaging materials, and products to ensure the safety and quality of finished products.
Minimum Requirement: Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Public Health, Production and Operations Management, Food Processing or its equivalent.
- Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in a similar position within a food manufacturing company/facility.
- Expert knowledge of food safety regulations, standards and protocols such as GMP, HACCP, FSSC and FDA.
- Excellent analytical, interpersonal, communication and time management skills.
- Knowledge of computer applications and systems.
- Experience in a bakery would be an asset.
- Valid Food Handlers’ Permit.
- Highly professional, ethical and of integrity.
- Required to work on shifts, weekends and public holidays, to meet operational demands.
