Supervisor - Mobile Equipment
The successful candidate will have primary responsibility to organize, direct, and supervise, mechanical repairs to heavy duty mobile equipment.
Main Responsibilities include:
Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the selected candidate will:
- Plan, coordinate and direct the deployment of men, materials and equipment to satisfy daily equipment availability targets.
- Improve and maintain the availability and reliability of plant heavy mobile equipment.
- Direct crew in trouble shooting and maintenance activities to identify the nature of cause of the defect; determine and establishes reasonable repair time frames. Monitors all jobs to ensure that the correct maintenance, operating and safety producers are observed and that activities progress within work plan parameters.
- Conduct performance checks, using check charts to observe and record the performance of pieces of equipment.
- Oversee the maintenance safety process. Ensures that maintenance activities are conducted in compliance with safety policies and procedures without injury to employees or damage to company property.
- Assist in the development of the department’s annual budget preparation by making input for major maintenance, capital projects or other expenditure.

- Proficiency in the use of computer-based office applications – MS Word, Excel, and Powerpoint.
- Ability to multi-task and manage complexity.
- Acute analysis and trouble shooting skills.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Minimum tertiary level Diploma/Degree in Auto Mechanics / Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum seven (7) years experience in mining equipment maintenance and at least three (3) years at supervisory/leadership capacity.
