POSITION TITLE: ASSISTANT BRAND MANAGER
DEPARTMENT: SALES AND MARKETING
JOB SUMMARY
Under the direction of the Head of Sales and Marketing and Senior Brand Manager the Assistant Brand Manager will be responsible for developing and executing marketing plans within approved budgets for the various brands in the desserts business category of Restaurant Associates Limited. The Assistant Brand Manager will champion brand image maintenance and create marketing promotions that drive market share, increase sales and enhance brand equity, while managing relationships with vendor partners and communication agencies. The Assistant Brand Manager will utilize consumer research data, and internal data analytics to recommend marketing programs that will engage target consumers with experiences that engender brand loyalty and increased sales and transactions.
REQUIREMENTS
- BSc/BA in Marketing, Communications or Operations & Logistics
- Proven experience in the management of projects
- Social media certification
- 3 years of relevant experience in a marketing, communications or trade marketing role
- Ability to travel

KEY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Brand Communication & Activation:
- Support the development of the annual marketing activity calendar
- Collect and consolidate information, using market date in order to identify brand challenges affecting growth
- Support the creation of innovative brand campaigns and promotions that drive awareness, sales and loyalty across digital and physical channels
- Develop creative activity briefs that accurately and effectively identify the brand challenge and are rooted in consumer insights
- Drive the execution marketing campaigns assets and selling tools in partnership with merchandising & design team as well as operations and finance team members to ensure cohesive and impactful messaging that will deliver on the brand objectives.
- Use innovation to drive sales, consumer interest and brand loyalty
- Identify and execute approved activations and sponsorships within approved budgets.
- Deliver post-execution reports within 5 business days after activation
- Weekly brand health status reports in terms of signage, menu boards, sales and transactions variances, past week store visits, and product mix reports to identify opportunities and challenges for product categories, time of day sales, pricing, promotions etc. and action plans for the coming week.
- Identify brand opportunities for increasing ticket averages and transaction count at both the local and national store level
- Support in the management of the brand’s digital and traditional media placements
- Monitoring brand’s store visibility (menu board, signage, merchandising etc.)
Category, Brand Performance & Analytics:
- Gather and analyze customer experience data, market research, market penetration, and the, and to maintain awareness of changing market and competitive conditions.
- Monitor market trends, research consumer markets and competitors’ activities and pricing
- Complete weekly, monthly and quarterly brand and promotions performance sales and transaction analytical reports, tracking achievement of brand and promotion results to provide recommendations on adjusting market strategy/tactics, to increase sales/transactions and achieve marketing goals
- Deliver performance reports to management and Brand Franchisee as required/requested
Finance & Budget Management:
- Maintain allocated spend at approved percentage of sales
- Complete purchase process cycle within approved policy, acquiring estimate, generating PO, prior to activities and submission of invoice post activity
- Monitor and track supplier payments
- Complete monthly accruals within the first 5 days of the month
- Complete monthly budget analysis to report actual vs budgeted spend highlighting reasons for observed variances
- Monitor brand performance to achieve target revenue and gross margin
General & Administrative:
- Manage internal and external relationships
- Uphold company values, policies, and procedures
- Provide prompt responses to Franchisee requests
- Plan and host Franchisee market visits
- Perform any other duties as required
