Corporate Director, Health and Safety
The ideal candidate will be responsible for establishing, leading, and overseeing comprehensive health and safety policies and programs across all resorts in the Caribbean portfolio. Based at the corporate office, this individual ensures compliance with international standards, local regulations, and company policies to provide safe and secure environments for guests, employees, and partners. The Corporate Director, Health and Safety, collaborates extensively with general managers, operational teams, and external stakeholders to proactively mitigate risks, promote a culture of safety, and ensure continuous improvement in safety performance.
Specific Requirements/Duties of the Position Include:
- Developing, implementing, and continuously refining corporate health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies and procedures across all properties.
- Ensuring that these policies align with both global standards and regional regulations.
- Ensuring full compliance with local, regional, and international safety regulations, including OSHA, ISO 45001, HACCP, and other relevant standards.
- Maintaining and overseeing all certifications and accreditations related to occupational health and safety.
- Conducting regular risk assessments and safety audits to identify potential hazards.
- Leading comprehensive incident investigations, determining root causes, and recommending corrective actions.
- Monitoring, measuring, and analysing safety performance metrics to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Implement data-driven safety initiatives and continuous improvement strategies to enhance overall HSE performance.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Risk Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of leadership experience in health and safety management within the hospitality, tourism, or luxury resort industry.
- Extensive knowledge of OSHA, ISO 45001, HACCP, and other relevant HSE standards.
- Strong background in emergency response planning, crisis management, and workplace risk assessments.
- Ability to analyze data and implement data-driven safety initiatives.
- Proficiency in safety management systems, compliance software, and digital reporting tools.
