GCG Group Jamaica is a member of the GCG Group which operates in 21 countries across the US, Caribbean, Central and South America. We are seeking to recruit a highly motivated individual to join the team in the capacity of Junior Sous Chef for our Montego Bay operations.
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist the Sous Chef in managing daily kitchen operations, ensuring food is prepared efficiently, consistently, and to the highest standards.
Supervise and coordinate the activities of cooks and other kitchen team members, ensuring tasks are completed accurately and on time.
Participate in the planning and execution of menus that align with client specifications, quality standards, and cost objectives.
- Ensure that all food is prepared in compliance with food safety and sanitation standards, including HACCP and other regulatory requirements.
- Monitor inventory levels and assist in stock ordering, receiving, and rotation to minimize waste and ensure freshness.
- Assist with staff training and development, fostering a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement in the kitchen.
ACADEMIC & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- A technical degree in Culinary Arts or Food Production,
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a professional kitchen .
- Solid knowledge of culinary techniques, food safety regulations, and HACCP standards
- Strong understanding of technical recipes and production standards.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong organizational and planning skills
