Responsibilities
Recruitment & Onboarding
• Collaborate with hiring managers to assess staffing needs and define job specifications.
• Coordinate, schedule onboarding, orientation, and induction. Employee & Labor Relations
• Serve as a primary point of contact for employee inquiries, concerns, or disputes.
• Guide managers and staff on HR policies, performance feedback, and disciplinary actions.
• Conduct investigations as necessary and implement corrective actions fairly.
Benefits & Compliance
• Administer employee benefits programs, health coverage, and leave policies.
• Maintain accurate personnel records and ensure compliance with Jamaican labor laws and company policies.
• Stay updated on and advise on relevant legislation and regulatory requirements.
Performance Management & Training
• Support performance review cycles including tracking, scheduling, and communications.
• Collaborate with managers to develop improvement plans and training strategies.
• Coordinate internal learning and development initiatives. HR Projects & Reporting
• Contribute to implementation of HR initiatives—engagement surveys, diversity & inclusion, or HR system integrations.
• Collect and analyze HR metrics (e.g. headcount, turnover, benefits utilization, engagement scores) and prepare concise reports for management. HR Administration & Systems
• Manage personnel databases, employee files, employment contracts, and organizational charts.
• Generate standard HR communications (employment letters, notices)
Qualifications & Skills
• Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field; HR certifications (e.g. SHRM) are a plus.
• 3–5 years of experience in an HR Generalist capacity, ideally within telecom, BPO, or multi-site environments.
• Proficiency with HRIS platforms and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent confidentiality, judgment, organization, and time-management capabilities.
• Familiarity with Jamaican labor laws, such as the Labour Relations and Industrial Disputes Act.
