Finance Manager
The Barbados Cricket Association (BCA), together with its subsidiary Cricket Franchise of (Barbados) Inc. (CFBI), is seeking to appoint an experienced and strategic Finance Manager to lead its Finance and Administration functions. Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer and managing a team of three (3) professionals, the Finance Manager will provide strategic financial leadership and operational oversight to ensure the financial sustainability, governance, and administrative effectiveness of the BCA and the CFBI.
Key Accountabilities
- Prepare and present monthly financial statements to the CEO and Board, including variance analysis against budget.
- Lead the annual budgeting process and ensure adherence to approved budgets.
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve internal controls and financial processes.
- Prepare audit schedules and manage the annual external audit process.
- Ensure full compliance with statutory, regulatory, and audit requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Strategy & Leadership
- Develop and execute the Association’s financial strategy in alignment with organisational objectives.
- Provide financial insights, forecasts, and strategic recommendations to the CEO and Board.
- Lead long-term financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting initiatives.
Financial Management & Reporting
- Oversee accurate and timely financial reporting for both entities.
- Monitor financial performance and recommend corrective actions where necessary.
- Manage cash flow, investments, and liquidity to optimise financial performance.
Risk & Compliance
- Establish and maintain robust internal control frameworks.
- Identify and mitigate financial risks.
- Liaise with external auditors, regulators, and financial institutions.
- Implement and maintain compliance and codes of conduct relating to financial practices.
Operational & Business Support
- Partner with department heads to drive cost control, efficiency, and performance improvement.
- Oversee financial systems, policies, and procedures to ensure scalability and accuracy.
- Support fundraising and other strategic initiatives as required.
Team Leadership
- Lead, mentor, and develop the Finance and Administration team.
- Foster a culture of accountability, high performance, and continuous improvement.
Strategic Planning
- Support organisational strategic planning and implementation.
- Establish performance standards and conduct regular performance reviews.
- Produce monthly, quarterly, and annual financial and operational reports.
Knowledge, Education & Experience
- Professional accounting designation (CPA, ACCA, or equivalent) – required.
- Minimum 5 to 10 years’ accounting experience, including at least 3 years in a senior accounting role.
- Strong knowledge of budgeting, audit procedures, GAAP, corporate finance, risk management, and regulatory compliance.
- Proficiency in MS Office and accounting software, particularly QuickBooks.
