MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Recommending and reporting on the daily management and repositioning of equity, fixed income and balanced portfolios.
• Assisting in monitoring and reporting on market indices changes and corporate actions, trading activity and fund holdings.
• Assisting in the research for the development of portfolio management methodologies for achieving investment objectives and making recommendations for improvement.
• Reviewing and disseminating investment statements/reviews monthly
• Preparing quarterly reviews/analysis of GLL and managed portfolios and reporting on the performance of portfolios to internal and external clients.
• Analysing prospective and current client portfolios and recommending strategies to achieve the clients’ objectives.
• Reviewing fixed income, equity and foreign currency transaction/trades and ensuring they are within market range.

 QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

1. A first degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics or any other related discipline from a recognised tertiary institution or equivalent professional qualifications.
2. Licensed or qualified to be licensed by the Financial Services Commission.
3. At least  3 years’ experience in a similar position in a financial institution.
4. Certified Financial Analyst (CFA) Level 1 designation would be an advantage.
5. Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of the local, regional and international economic and financial markets and the general socio-political environment.
6. Working knowledge of data modelling.
7. Detailed knowledge of regional and international capital markets.
8. Working knowledge of asset/liability management principles.
9. Working knowledge of Jamaican laws and regulations pertinent to the financial sector
