JOB TITLE: IT Infrastructure Specialist
REPORTS TO: Operations Manager / Senior IT Infrastructure Specialist / Designated Officer

JOB SUMMARY
The Information Technology Infrastructure Specialist is responsible for monitoring, maintaining, and supporting ICT infrastructure for company and related Department systems. The role ensures the reliability, availability, and security of cloud-hosted and on-premise servers, networks, databases, applications, and storage.
This role directly impacts the efficiency and effectiveness of company maritime trade by ensuring uninterrupted operations, which are critical to processes, regulatory compliance, and stakeholder coordination.
The incumbent performs hands-on infrastructure management, supports system upgrades and patching, responds to incidents, executes backups and recovery procedures, and maintains accurate documentation.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Infrastructure Operations & Monitoring
- Monitor company services and infrastructure performance, availability, and security using monitoring tools.
- Track KPIs such as uptime, response times, resource utilization, and error rates.
- Assist in the configuration, deployment, and maintenance of company dashboards and reports under the guidance of senior staff, validating that operational data and performance indicators are accurate and actionable.
- Perform routine system maintenance, updates, patching, and upgrades for servers, operating systems, and middleware.
- Apply and maintain security controls to protect infrastructure and data.
- Support cloud resource management (VMs, storage, networking) and on-premise infrastructure.
Incident Response & Troubleshooting- Respond to system alerts and incidents promptly, performing root cause analysis and resolution.
- Escalate critical issues to the appropriate supervisor or Operations Manager.
- Analyze logs, performance metrics, and system data to prevent future disruptions.
Backup & Recovery- Perform routine backups, verify integrity, and assist in recovery operations as needed.
- Test disaster recovery and cloud failover procedures to maintain operational continuity.
Project & System Support- Assist with system upgrades, module deployments, and technical improvements under guidance from senior staff.
- Participate in testing activities, including integration, validation, and acceptance testing.
- Coordinate with vendors and service providers on operational technical matters, including issue resolution and maintenance.
- Ensure that infrastructure and operational data aligns with company reporting, dashboards, and analytics requirements.
Documentation & Reporting- Maintain accurate technical documentation, incident records, operational logs, and procedural guides, including knowledge bases for staff training and continuity.
- Support integration, performance, and acceptance testing from an operational perspective, including verifying the accuracy of dashboard and report outputs.
- Assist in identifying operational improvements based on monitoring data and KPIs, and escalate recommendations to senior staff.
- Generate periodic reports on system performance, incidents, and maintenance activities.
- Contribute to technical knowledge bases and procedural guides.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES Knowledge- Servers, networks, databases, applications, cloud platforms, and related ICT infrastructure.
- System monitoring tools, operational SLAs, and service management principles.
- Cybersecurity, backup, and disaster recovery procedures.
- Experience with VMware, F5, Check Point, Microsoft IIS, Microsoft SQL Server, Microsoft BizTalk Server, Microsoft Windows Server, RHEL, Icinga, and Veeam Backup would be a plus.

- Ability to perform hands-on technical tasks, monitor performance, and maintain operational systems.
- Good communication skills for interacting with team members, vendors, and stakeholders.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and respond effectively in a dynamic operational environment.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Network Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- 2–4 years of experience in ICT infrastructure operations, system administration, or technical support.
- Experience with cloud environments, servers, networks, and middleware.
- Experience performing routine maintenance, monitoring, troubleshooting, backups, and operational support.
ENGAGEMENT AND TRANSITION ARRANGEMENTS This position is established on a
contract basis through 30 June 2027. Subject to
approvals, the role is intended to be
transferred and extended upon completion of the contract period.
