Junior Accountant & Cost Controller
Role Summary
The Junior Accountant & Cost Controller supports both daily accounting operations and project cost monitoring. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing cost and budget reports, analyzing variances, and supporting monthly and year‑end closing activities. The position works closely with finance, operations, and project teams to ensure proper budgeting, coding, and financial compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting & Financial Operations
- Perform daily accounting tasks including data entry, invoice processing, and reconciliations.
- Support month‑end and year‑end closing procedures.
- Maintain accurate and organized financial documentation and audit-ready files.
- Assist with audits and compliance‑related requirements.
- Prepare basic financial reports as needed.
Cost Control & Budget Monitoring
- Assist in monitoring project budgets and tracking cost performance.
- Prepare cost reports, dashboards, and tracking tools for internal stakeholders.
- Analyze variances between forecasted and actual project costs and highlight discrepancies.
- Support monthly cost reviews and contribute to the financial close process.
- Ensure expenditures are properly coded and allocated to correct cost centers or project lines.
- Assist in identifying potential cost‑saving opportunities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong analytical and numerical skills with attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial analysis tools.
- Basic knowledge of accounting principles and cost control concepts.
- Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and meet deadlines.
