Our client is seeking a temporary Employee Relations & Recruitment Specialist for an 8-month contract based in Port of Spain (POS).

Job Purpose
The Employee Relations & Recruitment Specialist is responsible for managing employee relations matters, contractor management, and recruitment services. The role ensures compliance with labour laws and Company policies while supporting operational teams with timely, effective people solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Employee Relations
Manage performance improvement plans, providing guidance to both employees and managers with the aim of transparently and efficiently handling performance issues.
Advise on employee relations matters, providing guidance to managers.
Support the resolution of grievances, disciplinary actions, and performance management processes.
Ensure consistent application of HR policies, procedures, and labour legislation.
Assist with investigations, hearings, and documentation related to employee conduct and performance.
Contractor Management
Coordinate the onboarding and offboarding of contractors, ensuring all documentation, approvals, and compliance requirements are met.
Liaise with contractor companies regarding contracts, renewals, and performance.
Maintain accurate records of contractor agreements and certifications.
Recruitment & Selection
Manage the start-to-end recruitment process.
Work with managers to define role requirements, job descriptions, and selection criteria.
Source candidates through job boards, agencies, and direct search.
Screen applications, conduct interviews, coordinate assessments, and support final selection.
Prepare employment offers and support onboarding processes.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Industrial Relations, Business Administration, or a related field.
Minimum 5 years’ experience in an HR generalist, employee relations, or recruitment role.
Experience managing contractors and third-party service providers is an asset.
Sound knowledge of employment legislation and HR best practices.
