Position Overview
The Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing all operational aspects of the company’s security services, including Guarding, Cash-in-Transit (CIT), Control Room Operations, ATM Operations, Vault Management, Electronic Surveillance, and Rapid Response Units.
The role ensures operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and the consistent delivery of high standards of professionalism, safety, and client satisfaction. Special emphasis is placed on the integrity and efficiency of guarding operations, effective risk mitigation, and proactive customer engagement.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Oversight
- Oversee multiple branches or divisions to ensure efficient operations and consistent delivery of security services to the highest standards.
- Identify, manage, and resolve operational challenges, including personnel, fleet, equipment, and service delivery issues.
- Ensure rapid, appropriate responses to security breaches or incidents across all services.
- Conduct post-incident investigations and implement corrective and preventive measures.
- Maintain and regularly test emergency response protocols and staff readiness.
Leadership & People Management
- Provide strong leadership, direction, and accountability across all operational teams.
- Ensure staff compliance with dress code, grooming standards, and professional conduct.
- Conduct regular evaluations, refresher training, and disciplinary action where required.
- Facilitate training and development initiatives to enhance skills, readiness, and performance.
Customer Engagement
- Build and maintain strong client relationships.
- Proactively identify customer needs and expectations.
- Address complaints promptly and professionally to ensure high client satisfaction.
Compliance & Risk Management
- Oversee arms and ammunition management, including control, storage, maintenance, and tracking, in collaboration with the Compliance Manager.
- Ensure full compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards.
- Collaborate with Compliance and Legal Departments on statutory obligations and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure accurate maintenance of logbooks, inspection records, and incident reports.
Collaboration
- Work closely with HR, Compliance, Legal, Finance, and other departments to align operational activities with company goals and objectives.
Administrative & Reporting Responsibilities
- Maintain and analyze operational performance data for continuous improvement.
- Submit monthly operational status reports to the General Manager.
- Report non-compliance issues weekly to the General Manager, with clear recommendations for resolution.
- Submit monthly reports on:
- Customer interactions
- Control Room operations (reviewed and endorsed by the Operations Manager)
- Service performance metrics
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) – Monthly Targets
- Customer complaint resolution time
- Incident reporting accuracy
- Staff attendance & punctuality
- Crew readiness & uniform compliance
- Client satisfaction score
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Security Management, Business, or a related field, or an equivalent level of proven experience in the security industry.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a senior leadership role within security operations or a related field.
- Sound knowledge of local firearm laws and regulations (where applicable).
- Demonstrated experience in arms and ammunition management and allowance approvals.
- Strong working knowledge of GPS tracking, CCTV systems, and fleet management systems.
- Solid understanding of laws and regulations governing the security industry.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure, independently, and as part of a senior management team.
