Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer with a strong background in building services design. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the design, coordination, and delivery of electrical systems for a variety of building projects, ensuring compliance with relevant codes, standards, and client requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop electrical building services systems, including:
- Lighting systems
- Power distribution for High and Medium voltage systems
- ELV systems (e.g., fire alarm, data/telecom, access control, CCTV, BMS interfaces)
- Prepare electrical layouts, schematics, and detailed drawings using AutoCAD and/or Revit.
- Perform load calculations, lighting calculations, and equipment sizing.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including architects, mechanical engineers, and other stakeholders.
- Review and comment on shop drawings, material submittals, and technical documents.
- Ensure designs comply with applicable local and international standards and regulations.
- Provide technical support during construction, including site inspections and responding to RFIs.
- Assist in project planning, scheduling, and design deliverables.
- Reports to the Engineering Director and/or Senior MEP Engineer.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in electrical building services design
- Working knowledge of electrical construction/installation procedures and practices.
- Proven experience in lighting, power, and ELV systems.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Revit.
- Good understanding of relevant electrical codes and standards.
- Strong coordination, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred (Optional)
- Experience with BIM-based projects.
- CSME Certification would be an asset
- Registered Engineer in local territory or country
- Familiarity with lighting design software or electrical calculation tools.
- Previous experience on commercial, residential, or mixed-use projects.
Relocation package is available for people off-island but willing to relocate.
