Reporting to the Guardsman Group Training Manager, the Training Specialist is responsible for instructing and evaluating the Security Officer trainees’ programme in their area of specialization and undertaking associated administrative duties. The incumbent may also be required to develop and deliver other training programmes as needed.
Responsibilities
- Conduct instructional sessions timetabled using established Training Standards/Curriculum and relevant/appropriate teaching methodologies/strategies to enhance the learning process.
- Prepare and submit trainees’ progress report within agreed timeframe and maintains the integrity of confidential data
- Identify trainee learning gaps and make suggestions for improvement
- Invigilate/adjudicate internal assessments as assigned
- Prepare and submit training material requirements within established time-frame and accounts for all equipment assigned.
- Prepare and submit Lesson Plans within established time-frames.
- Maintain records of trainees’ attendance and punctuality
- Participate in recruitment of Security Officers when required
- Compile all necessary departmental reports.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree from a reputable Teacher Training Institution or ‘Train the Trainer’ certification
- Knowledge of Security Industry
- At least two (2) years’ experience in training, at a similar level.
- At least two to three (2-3) years industry experience in security field.
- Excellent written and oral communication
- Computer literate with knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
- Self-motivated and possess ability to work on own initiative
SPECIFIC Requirement
- Ownership of a reliable motor vehicle and ability to travel and overnight out of parish
