POSITION OVERVIEW
The Associate will represent clients in civil and criminal law including commercial, family, estate and other legal proceedings. The incumbent may specialize in a single area or may practice broadly in many areas of law.
CORE FUNCTIONS
- Consistently provide high quality legal service and also provide overall client counselling in diverse areas to all clients
- Obtain new referrals from existing and past clients.
- Generate revenue by attracting and retaining clients
- Increase revenue by exploring new and additional services
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
Maintaining Branch Office by:-
- Enhancing the Law Firm’s reputation by carrying out all functions legally, ethically, and morally appropriate to assist the firm in achieving the Client’s goals.
- Anticipating and mitigating potential legal problems with the Law Firm or for a client – and developing strategies to avoid costly litigation and reduce potential areas of risk.
- Creating understanding and shaping positive images of the law firm by building relationships; maintaining credibility; providing accurate information to the legal community, media, government, and the public, when necessary
- Encourage ethical legal practices
- Develop and maintain good client relationship skills, gaining client’s confidence and that of other professionals
- Offering advice on the law, legal procedures and a wide range of associated issues
- Attending and representing clients at meetings
- Researching documents and case history to ensure accuracy of advice and procedures
- Representing clients in tribunals and in Courts where required
- Working and behaving in a professional manner
- Complying with all the Firm’s policies and procedures
- Diligently carrying out duties given by the Senior Associates and other Senior Attorneys
- Treating all information pertaining to The Firm and its client and their business as wholly confidential
- Always being aware and knowledgeable of all changes in the law
- Consistently demonstrating the ability to work without significant supervision and developing a positive image of expertise in the assigned area(s)
- Having the ability to identify and articulate necessary strategies to facilitate performance and returns
- Promoting harmonious working relationships
- Consistently updating knowledge
- Maintaining expert knowledge of assigned Legal function
