DIRECTOR OF HUMAN RESOURCES
JOB PURPOSE:
To lead and manage the HR function within the organization, developing and
implementing HR strategies, and ensuring compliance with legal and company policies.
Oversees all aspects of HR, including talent acquisition, employee development,
performance management, employee relations, and compensation/benefits.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Develop and implement HR strategies that align with the organization's business
goals and provide support to the in this area to all Executives.
Provides leadership and guidance to HR department staff, communicating and
re-enforcing the HR policies and procedures to employees and collaborating with
other departments.
Develops and manages the HR budget.
Develops and administers compensation and benefits programs, ensuring they
are competitive and compliant with legal requirements.
Oversees the recruitment, onboarding, performance management, training and
development, and succession planning of the organization.
Manage employee relations issues, conducting investigations, and mediating
conflicts.
Manages the HR department's daily operations, including payroll, HRIS, and
record-keeping.
Ensures HR practices comply with all applicable laws and regulations,
Collects and analyses HR data to identify trends and make recommendations for
improvement.
EDUCATIONAL, SKILLS AND TRAINING REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related
field
5+ years of progressively responsible HR experience,
Professional certifications e.g. SHRM-SCP, SHRM-SPHR, or HRCI-PHR,
Strong leadership, management, and communication skills.
Ability to analyze data, identify problems, and develop solutions.
Familiarity with employment law i.e. the Antigua and Barbuda Labour Code, HR
policies, and procedures.
Proficiency in HR software (HRIS), payroll systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
Understanding of business principles and how HR practices contribute to
organizational success.
Excellent interpersonal skills, including conflict resolution, communication, and
empathy.
