Main Purpose of Job:
The Engineering & Maintenance Planner is accountable for delivering all key performance areas relating to the successful planning, preparation and execution of all maintenance activities including overhauls/turnarounds. Ensuring all spare parts, tools, equipment, external and leveraged resources are available on time and on budget whilst adhering to Safety and Quality procedures and working in accordance with a Continuous Improvement process.
Key Accountabilities:
- Planning and coordinating maintenance activities to avert equipment failures and mitigate downtime, ensuring minimum disruption to the operations/production schedules.
- Develops detailed work schedules for routine maintenance tasks including changeovers and overhauls.
- Creates and manages work orders to ensure all planned activities are completed on time and within budget.
- Ensures all OSHA and TDL’s safety protocols are adhered to during all maintenance activities.
- Ensures proper tracking and analysis of maintenance history, including work order compliance, manpower utilization, changeover times, rework jobs, PM compliance, life cycle plans and other relevant department KPIs.
- Reviews and fully utilizes maximum capabilities of assigned Computer Maintenance Management System (‘CMMS’).
- Reviews critical spare parts inventory, min/max reorder quantities and regularly audits spare parts management.
- Manages acquisition of parts, labour and equipment required to execute overhauls.
- Provides support to E&M in testing, commissioning, and hand over of equipment to operations after completion of overhauls.
- Develops estimations for parts, materials and labour required for maintenance tasks.
- Identifies ways to optimize maintenance processes and reduce costs.
- Communicate with Operations, E&M and other departments to ensure successful coordination of maintenance activities.
- Assists the Maintenance Planning Engineer with developing annual OPEX budgets for maintenance activities.
Required Qualifications Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Process/ Mechanical/ Electrical/Industrial Engineering.
- Post Graduate qualifications, while not essential, would be an asset.
- Proven Project management experience
- 3 years’ experience in maintenance planning, execution and safety leadership.
- Strong understanding of equipment maintenance, repair procedures and safety regulations.
- Experience in carrying out risk analysis and development of corresponding mitigations plans
- Experience in change management and implementing step improvement projects.
Required Knowledge/ Skills/ Abilities:
- Resilient, self- motivated, ability to work at a fast pace and to prioritize multiple projects and respond to numerous requests.
- Working knowledge of process and quality management systems in beverage manufacturing.
- Self-starter capable of planning, implementing, completing, and evaluating maintenance activities
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Project, Word, and other necessary computer programs e.g. SAP, or other CMMS.
- Strong ability to analyze data and identify trends to improve maintenance processes.
- Financial management and project controls skills.
- Excellent relationship building, problem solving, negotiation and communication skills.
- Developed understanding of cost & schedule impacts using planning reports
